Bridal Beauty Tips Before the Big Wedding Day
Facials aren’t a one-time fix solution to skin issues like acne, acne scars, hyperpigmentation or wrinkles/fine lines. Think of skincare as a journey that you need to follow by incorporating proper skin products in your daily routine and having regular treatments done on a monthly/bimonthly basis. If you didn’t start your skincare journey at least 6 months in advance of your wedding day, then it will be difficult to address any major issues in a short time.
But there are some last minute things you can do to make sure you look good if your wedding is in the next month or even in the next couple of weeks.
Here are some last minute skincare tips for the bride-to-be to follow before the big wedding day:
Tip #1 - Moisturize
Make sure you’re applying moisturizer and serums to keep your skin hydrated. Dry/dehydrated skin will be more visible after makeup application because the fine lines become more visible with foundation.
Tip #2 - Drink lots of water!
Water is key to keeping your skin hydrated and maintaining skin elasticity. This will reduce the appearance of wrinkles and keep the skin plump. Water prevents toxins from clogging up pores that lead to acne.
"Your skin is like a plant. You have to water it. Make sure it's hydrated, not just squeaky clean." – Emily Weiss
Tip #3 - Do not introduce any new skin products or any harsh treatments in the same month as your wedding
Your skin needs time to get rid of toxins that sometimes appears as acne at a surface level when new skincare products are introduced especially ones intended to clear up acne. Overtime this “purging” disappears but it won’t happen in a short amount of time. It’s better to stick with your current products.
Stop using retinol 1 week before your wedding. Retinol can also cause a bit of peeling especially if you’re not a regular user.
Do not do any peels in the same month as your wedding. Last thing you want is your skin to be peeling a few days or day of your wedding.
Tip #4 - Limit Sun Exposure
Protect your beautiful skin from sunrays. You don’t want unnecessary hyperpigmentation. Apply sunscreen at least 2-3x a days (even on cloudy days) and wear a hat for additional protection.
Tip #5 - Book your Last Minute Facials
We suggest treatments that will help your skin stay hydrated and provide a smooth surface for makeup application. Three recommended treatments:
1. Dermaplaning: Schedule a dermaplaning session with your esthetician a couple of days if possible before your wedding ceremonies start. This will remove any dead skin cells and peach fuzz. It will create a smoother surface for foundation, so your makeup doesn’t look cakey.
2. Ultrasound facial: This facial is one of our top recommendations for hydration therapy because not only does it help with skin tightening but also for better penetration of collagen and elastin which will help maintain hydrated skin.
3. Ultimate Glow Facial: Specially designed for the bride-to-be that combines dermaplaning with ultrasound. Recommend booking this 2 days before any wedding ceremonies.

Ultimately, your main goal for your skin should be hydrated and smooth skin for better makeup application. You can consider doing more invasive treatments and start adding new skincare products at least 6 months in advance of the wedding day or you will have to wait until the wedding day is over.
